I remember when I was little how I run around on my hands and knees with my friends in the yard and pretend to play dogs, cats, and even horses. Role playing I think takes me back to my childhood how I play "House" or "Indians" it pretty much all relates to Role playing making up our own little soap operas. I think I never really got out of being a little kid and acting like what life could be, being an animal or a mother or a baby. It was fun being little not caring what others think. So I think role playing is like expressing that childhood you never wanted to let go but now have the dignity of an adult and to embraced to act it out in public or even at home. Role playing is a way to get out of the real world and into your world and feel what it use to be like when you were younger not caring what was around you as you play like you do now on the computer.
I thought this was a good conversation starter for everyone and anyone can join in and tell each other their experiences and feelings about role playing in your childhood at the park or at home.

Yes, roleplaying does bring back those memories from when I was younger. It also helps me when I'm stressed out or mad at someone. Because then I can go on to the computer and be in a totally different situtation. The only bad thing is when I'm really mad I tend to use my charaters and take it out on the people I roleplay with.......... ;D

Same here. When I first started role-playing on a wolf rpg site, I remember I was a little depressed, and it really helped! Today, all my role-playing buddies are usually better friends than my buds in real life. Yes, I just said that. ^^

For the first 9 years of my life, i never had an imagination. I lived in cranston with a bunch of "punks" and my "enjoyment" (if thats what it is called) was picking on others and getting in fights. I hated me because of what i did so when i moved into Coventry, i decied to start fresh. I acted like i had always wanted to. I was a silly, imaginative little girl. At first, no one wanted any part of me but then i met Ashley. Ashley gave me the childhood enjoyment that i never witnessed in cranston. We "played" Witches and Demons. We "played" Animals. We played House(i was always the dog or the baby!). Basicly, we rolepayed! When me and Ashley began to drift apart, Becca, my other friend, brought online Roleplaying into my life. I couldn't help but notice the similarities that online roleplaying had with me and ashley physicly role playing. My happiness that i felt when me and ashley used to play returned. I was a child again even though i was 12 years old. Now ashley and I are best friends again, and guess what! We still physicly role play as if we were little kids. No matter how old i get, i know me and ashley will continue playing and even if we dont, online roleplaying is the second best thing.
