It's a program that is designed to show students the ramifications of drunk driving. They recreate an accident and they have students who are selected to act as the victims. They have fake blood and everything... Some of the people in the accident die, and the drunk driver is arrested. (They actually spend a night in jail.) The police call the "dead" students parents and tell them that their child is dead, of course the parents are aware that it's just a program. At our school, they also rang a gong every fifteen minutes to represent a new person who had died. They would then take one student for every ringing, and that student was now "dead". A police officer would come in and read a letter to the class explaining what happened. Today was the mock funeral and they had some touching speeches. It was very, very sad.
